Lake Iskanderkul is quite famous in Tajikistan. Although it is located at an altitude of 2200 m above sea level, it can be called a resort. The lake is located 128 km northwest of Dushanbe, and here (unlike Sarez and other hard-to-reach lakes) can be easily reached from the capital by car.

Best time to visit: late June – September
Route: Dushanbe – Varzob – Iskanderkul – Dukdon pass (3810) – Archamaidan – Pushtikul lake – Munora pass (3520) – Sarymat – Tavasang pass (3330) – Khazorchashma – Marguzor – Dushanbe – Samarkand.

Day 1 :
Meeting in Dushanbe. Hotel accommodation
Day 2 :
Excursion around the city of Dushanbe
Day 3 :
Dushanbe–Iskandarkul Lake–Camp on the Karakul River, travel time 3-4 hours
Day 4 :
Karakul River – Camp to Dugdon-do Postushy Kamen Pass, hiking time 5-6 hours
Day 5 :
Shepherd's Stone - Dugdon Pass - Sarikhodan Gorge, hiking time 6-7 hours
Day 6 :
Sarikhodan gorge – Lake Pshtikul – Archamaydan valley, hiking time 5-6 hours
Day 7 :
Valley Archamaydan-Zelenie Guitan, hiking time 6 hours
Day 8 :
Guitan village–Guitan Pass–Chukurak Lake, hiking time 5-6 hours
Day 9 :
Lake Chukurak – Chukurak Pass – Kulikalon Lakes, hiking time 5 hours
Day 10 :
Kulikalon Lakes – Dushokha Lake, hiking time 1 hour
Day 11 :
Lake Dushokha-Aloudda Lakes, hiking time 6-7 hours
Day 12 :
Lake Alouddin – Lake Mutnoe – Lake Alouddin, hiking time 5 hours
Day 13 :
Alouddin Lake - Chapdara Pass - Bodkhona Gorge, hiking time 7-8 hours
Day 14 :
Bodkhona Gorge - Penjikent Samarkand on the way 5-6 hours
